Late last week, I received my replacement JAVOedge Cherry Blossom flip style case. I grabbed it on Sunday, headed to a local historical site and took some photos. Well, it’s Friday, which means Friday Five, so I decided to merge the FF with the Cherry Blossom photos and review. Let’s get started.
1. I bought the flip style case because I thought it’d be more beneficial to have the kick stand than to not have it. Although I don’t have any cookbooks on my nook at this time, I’m thinking that will change in the future. When you don’t need the stand, simply snap it into place on the back of the case.
2. The magnetized front flap and front interior cover scheme works perfectly. Close the case, and you’re ready to pack up your nook and go. No ties or buttons, snaps nor zippers.3. JAVOedge includes a business card cover, a flap that can accommodate a small amount of papers, and a pen/pencil holder. Other nook owners may find this more helpful than I do. The pen/pencil holder seems a bit small to me, or maybe I just use fat pens. I would have preferred a shoulder strap for no-hands carrying of nook.
4. Love the design and color of the Japanese floral print. That’s the main reason I bought the case. I’m not as crazy of a fan of color of the interior beige/tan. I would have preferred to have been able to customize the interior color.
The case is also pleasing in a tactile manner, and my nook fits snuggly and securely in the holder. The faux leather (vinyl?) is soft enough, but I absolutely love the pseudo-suede in the background.
5. JAVOege provided exemplary customer service upon learning of an initial design flaw that covered up the “n” and brightness sensor on the touch screen. (I don’t use auto-brightness and just double-tapped the screen to turn on the touchscreen during the interim. The old design definitely impaired page-turn swipes, although it wasn’t impossible.) They gave customers three options, and I opted to keep the faulty case and to wait for a new case to arrive. (You could also get a refund or choose a case that did was currently available and did not have interior bars.)
Overall, I’m very pleased with my case, especially amidst the blizzards this winter. It’s bright, functional and protects my nook.
As always, if you have any requests for future Friday Fives, please let me know.
