How to Convert a DOC to PDF

So you have your nook and want to upload your own documents to your new eReader. The problem is that the novel you agreed to beta for a friend is in DOC format (or DOCX or ODT or any other format), and nook won’t read it. How do you convert the file to PDF? Thankfully, there are a number of free programs that will convert PDFs for you.

How to Convert Using OpenOffice
If you’re looking to download a full-fledged and free office suite, you can’t go wrong with OpenOffice. OpenOffice supports a range of formats and features a built-in “Export as PDF” function.

2. Click on “File,” then “Export as PDF.”
3. Click on “Export” to convert the file, or adjust settings such as the “Range.”
4. You may now upload your PDF to your nook.

1. Open the document you wish to convert.
2. Click on “File,” then “Print.”
3. Select the “CutePDF Writer” in the “Printer” drop-down list. Click “OK.”
4. Wait for the “Save As” box to appear.
5. Browse to the directory where you’d like to save the file. Change the name of the PDF, if desired.
6. Click on “Save.”
7. You may now upload your converted PDF file to your nook.
